14 Very Random Facts About Disney

Mulan is around 16. This was the time when Chinese girls were sent to matchmakers.

They reckon Jasmine is almost 18 'cause she's supposed to get married by her 18th birthday.

Considering the real Pocahontas was only 12, they had to make her older for the film, so they think she's around 18.

Tiana, one of my favourite princesses is 19. I love that gal!

We know for sure that Rapunzel is 18, since the film takes place on her 18th birthdee!


2. Billy Crystal Was First Offered The Role of Buzz In Toy Story..

But he turned it down! He completely regretted it after seeing the film and said it was the worst mistake of his career. Afterwards he made sure he would get to voice a character in another Disney movie. I think things worked out perfectly though because Tim Allen IS Buzz and Billy Crystal is a brilliant Mike Wazowzki!

3. In The Little Mermaid, Kermit The Frog, Mickey, Goofy and Donald all appear in the crowd during King Triton's entrance. There are a lot of Disney characters hidden in Disney movies, you just need to keep an eye out! But more about that later!

4. I really like this one because I'm an English nerd! The Lion King is loosely based on Hamlet!

 Think about it, Simba's father Mufasa is killed by his uncle Scar who wants the throne and all that comes with it, including Mufasa's wife. Disney were going to have a scene where Scar was trying to court Simba's mother but they left it out because they felt it was inappropriate. And check out this clever reference.

5. Pumba was the first ever character to display flatulence in a Disney movie. Hehe!

6. Now this one is pretty cool, but it's not one you'd really notice straight away. In The Princess And The Frog, Dr. Facilier's shadow makes the wallpaper change into a skull and crossbones depending on where it is.

7. There's a blast from the past in Toy Story 3 when we're reunited with the famous psychopath Sid..but he's gone on to be a garbage man. He's gotten a crazy amount of wear in that t-shirt.



8. Aladdin was modelled after Tom Cruise. That's all I have to say about this one.

 


9. Walt Disney's dying written words were "Kurt Russell", and nobody knows why. Weird!

10. Apparently, if you send Mickey and Minnie mouse an invitation to your wedding, they'll send you back an autographed photo, and if you send one to Cinderella and her fella, they send you back congratulatory certificate! Awww!

11. The Toy Story Actors in Disney Land have instructions to freeze and lay perfectly still if you shout: "Andy's coming!"

If you're wondering about hidden characters in Disney films, Scar can be seen as a rug in Hercules, Jessie and Nemo are in Boo's toy collection in Monsters Inc, in Tarzan, the tea set that Turk plays with are all the little tea characters from beauty and the beast...oh I could go on forever with this haha!

13. In Monster's Inc, Boo's real name is Mary, based on the little girl who plays her in real life.



14. And last but not least, since Disney World has a swamp land setting, it frequently attracts alligators! They've been found swimming around Splash Mountain, and even in the Toilets!

It's Friday everyone!! Wooohoo!! Gotta get down and all that. Time for another factual Friday and I thought it'd be cool to write about some of my fave movie facts. These are all definitely true too, just so you know I'm not lyin'!

1. In Home Alone, the picture Kevin finds of Buzz's girlfriend is actually a boy in a wig. Chris Columbus thought it'd be too mean to make fun of a girl like that.

2. During just one lunch break, the animators at Pixar came up with the ideas for A Bugs Life, Finding Nemo, Wall-E and Monster's Inc! Wooow!!

3. In The Beatles feature A Hard Day's Night, the band's name isn't mentioned once.

4. In Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, Tim Burton had 40 squirrels trained to crack nuts, as he wanted it to be as life like as possible.

5. In Pulp Fiction, every time John Travolta is in the bathroom, something bad happens. Random one I know but I still think it's cool!

A Favourite Film Of Mine: Run Lola Run

If you haven't already guessed it guys, I love films. I've seen lots and lots of them so I thought maybe I should write a bit about them on my blog! Today we're gonna talk about Run Lola Run, or Lola Rennt, as it's known in Germany. I'll tell you right now, it might not be everyone's taste, and if you're not a fan of subtitles then don't say I didn't warn you, but I really like it.

So the story is...hmm I actually don't know how to explain this one without giving too much away! It revolves around a girl named Lola who receives a phone call from her very panicky boyfriend, who tells her she has 20 minutes to help him try and find 100 grand, or he's in big, big trouble. Sounds a little straight forward doesn't it? Well it's not! The opening scene is soo cool-I saw it first when I was really small and I can remember thinking it was cool then too! The whole film is just really unique and different, doing things like giving snap shots into minor character's lives, and showing snippets of the film through animation.

The soundtrack is perfect for the film and really suits the mood, but the best thing about this film is it leaves you going; "who, what, why?!" which I love! That's all I'll say about it because it's hard to explain without ruining anything, but yeah-just go watch it haha!

Film reviews are so much fun to do, so I'll definitely be doing more!

5 Reasons Tea Is The Best Drink In The World

Ahhh tea, the most perfect drink in the world. I had a dream last night that me and Conor had the biggest cup of tea in the world, and it all seemed very real until sadly, I woke up. Here are a few reasons why I love this beverage and I'm sure most of the Irish population will agree.

Reason 1: It's so relaxing and is the perfect partner for the show you've been waiting all week to see. It's also known to be a proven stress reliever! 

Reason 2: Most teas have amazing health benefits! Everyday normal tea has been thought to reduce the risk of heart disease and to also be effective in anti-ageing. Few more cups pleease since I'm turning 21 in 2 months and that's apparently SO old.  Apparently the best tea you can drink is green tea (I love) or just normal old black tea. Black tea is especially good if you're lacking sugar and might be a tad dehydrated (hint hint, code for hungover!)

Reason 3: It's like a hug in a cup. You know it is. I wanted to draw a pic of a cup of tea giving a hug but how creepy would that be?! 

Reason 4:  There's a pretty cool history behind tea (which I'm pretty sure you don't want to know) but I always think it's kinda cool that when I pour a cup, I'm about to drink something that caused such a kerfuffle once upon a time. Or maybe I'm just a weirdo and other people don't think about things like that. 

Reason 5:  It's a drink with jam and breeeaddd. Hehe, I had to. In seriousness though it's actually really hydrating! Not as much as water obviously, but it's still amazing for keeping you hydrated.
